An Unstoppable Journey
Born in a remote village in Laos, Chia Vang was one of nine children in a family that faced tremendous challenges. At just four years old, his father made the difficult decision to send him away for schooling, leaving Chia to live with strangers during the academic year. This early bout of independence helped forge the grit and determination that he would carry with him his entire life.
When the Vietnam War ended, Chia and his family were forced to flee Laos to escape re-education camps. Their dangerous journey across the Mekong River brought them to a refugee camp in Thailand and, ultimately, to the United States in 1976. Chia arrived with absolutely no knowledge of English — a language he would eventually learn while working 12-hour shifts as a janitor, all while attending school full-time.
Chia’s relentless drive led him to pursue higher education, earn a Ph.D. and build a career in chemistry research. However, it was his leap into entrepreneurship that truly changed his life. Despite initial skepticism from employers who doubted his ability to succeed in sales, Chia persevered. He started small but quickly proved his determination and skill, eventually transitioning full-time into financial services.
Today, Chia Vang is the proud owner of a thriving business that helps protect families with financial solutions. His journey from refugee to successful entrepreneur embodies the spirit of Changing the Face of Insurance. Chia not only achieved financial security for his own family but has also become a champion for others, helping individuals and communities build wealth and achieve their financial goals.
Chia’s story is a reminder that with hard work, focus and belief in oneself, anything is possible. He is living proof that overcoming obstacles can lead to incredible success, and his journey continues to inspire countless others to reach for their own dreams.
